摘要：数字乡村建设是乡村全面振兴的重要组成部分，其不仅担负着促进农村经济发展的重任，还具有乡村治理的功能。本文采用Multivariate Probit模型考察了数字乡村建设对农户人居环境整治的影响。结果表明：数字乡村建设显著提升了农户参与卫生厕所建造和生活污水科学处理的概率，带动了农户人居环境整治水平。在考虑内生性和多种稳健性检验后仍然成立。数字乡村建设对农户人居环境整治的带动作用具有群体异质性，在生活污水科学处理过程中，其带动作用对高数字技术水平组农户更为凸显；在卫生厕所建造过程中，其带动作用对高非农就业组农户更为明显。组织领导力和环保认知度是数字乡村建设影响农户人居环境整治的重要传导机制，且两个传导机制间互相关联、相得益彰，具有明显交互作用。应深入实施数字乡村建设行动，增强村干部组织领导力，促进合理利用资源造福于民，带动农户参与人居环境整治。此外，也要提高农户环保认知度，激活其环境整治内生动力。

How Can Digital Village Construction Drive Improvements in Farmers’ Living Environment

Abstract：Digital village construction is an important component of comprehensive rural revitalization, serving not only to promote rural economic development but also to enhance rural governance. Using data from the China Land Economic Survey conducted in Jiangsu Province in 2022, this study employs a Multivariate Probit (Mvprobit) model to examine the impact of digital village construction on farmers’ living environment improvement. The results show that digital village construction significantly increases the probability of farmers’ participation in sanitary toilet construction and the scientific treatment of domestic sewage, and these findings remain robust after addressing endogeneity concerns and conducting various robustness checks. The driving effect of digital village construction on farmers’ living environment improvement exhibits significant group heterogeneity. Specifically, in the scientific treatment of domestic sewage, the effect is more pronounced among farmers with higher levels of digital technology adoption, whereas in sanitary toilet construction, the effect is stronger among farmers with higher levels of non-agricultural employment. Organizational leadership and environmental awareness are key transmission mechanisms through which digital village construction influences farmers’ living environment improvement. These mechanisms are interrelated and mutually reinforcing, exhibiting a significant interaction effect. Accordingly, governments should further advance digital village initiatives, strengthen the organizational leadership of village cadres, promote the rational use of resources for public benefit, and encourage farmers’ participation in living environment improvement. In addition, enhancing farmers’ environmental awareness is essential for activating their endogenous motivation for environmental improvement.
